One of the most famous drum machines used before the development of the genre was the Roland TR-808 Drum Machine, and it’s still one of my favorite drum machines.
The Beat 808 soon slowed down and became associated with trap music, and the slowing down of hip-hop tracks became a common feature of early trap music. In the most recent trap tracks, tuning, cutting, using samples and using a drum looper is usually the usual vibe.
Listening to these tracks, you will probably notice that they don’t sound much like modern trap music. Early trap rap was defined by its lyrical content, while the instrumentals stuck to conventional hip-hop structures.
The typical modern style we are looking for has a completely different scene that includes hip-hop, rap, trap and even a few other genres of music.
